The Dyson Perrins Chaplaincy project began in September 2015 where Katie Fisher began her role as Chaplain in Dyson Perrins Church of England Academy. The post is supported by local ecumenical churches, in addition to partnering with the Worcestershire diocese and organisations which include the YMCA. The role offers pastoral support within the school, creating space and a forum to engage with and explore faith and Spirituality, whilst supporting and facilitating youth work in the local community and church.
Katie is a member of the Source Church here in Malvern and has been involved in Youth Work for over 15 years. She gained a BA Hons in Applied Theology and went on to do a PGCE in Religious Education for 11-18 year olds. She taught Religious Studies, Philosophy and Sociology A Levels for over 7 years and has engaged in ad hoc lecturing at tertiary level looking at Theology and Youth Work. She has been married to Les for 13 years and has 3 children who are aged 3, 6 and 8.
