In Dyson Perrins Art is a popular, thriving and successful subject with two full time members of staff. The Art Department consists of three well equipped rooms for general art activities as well as containing specialist facilities for Ceramics, Textiles and Glass.
The aim of the department is to encourage all students to enjoy making art by stimulating creative thinking and learning and giving students the opportunity to work independently to develop enquiring minds.
Art is compulsory in years 7 to 9 and optional in years 10 and 11 and the Sixth form. In addition to timetabled lessons there are lunchtime and after school sessions available to aid the progress of the student's work. At GCSE and A level/Btec there are a number of research trips organised which enable students to gain first-hand knowledge to progress their work.
We currently follow AQA at GCSE and Excecel at A Level/Btec
