Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG)
Head of CIAG – Miss Claire Watson
Alternative Curriculum Coordinator and Careers Advisor – Mrs Karen Brakes
At Dyson Perrins C of E Academy, your son or daughter will receive detailed careers information, advice and guidance throughout their time at school. There are numerous opportunities during the year for your child to receive impartial careers advice, meet a wide range of employers and develop their employability skills.
It is our aim at Dyson Perrins to ensure that all of our students, when they leave us, have the ability to succeed in a career which they enjoy and value.
To help our students make these choices, we have a dedicated programme of careers education and organise a wide range of experiences with external providers, details of which can be found here
Year 9 Options
Please find a powerpoint with links here designed to help Year 9 make their important option choices.
Students can access the Careers Office in C Block to research post-16 and post-18 options. Various prospectuses from further education providers and leaflets regarding apprenticeships and career opportunities are available. One to one interviews with the Careers Advisor take place on a daily basis where students are given support with decision making, and Sixth Forms, FE Colleges or Apprenticeship applications.
