STUDENTS from Dyson Perrins High School delivered 55 shoeboxes, which kindhearted students had decorated and filled full of gifts for residents of Court House Nursing Home in Barnards Green.

The home's wellbeing coordinator, Hannah Newrick, said: "We were blown away by this lovely gesture, our residents will really enjoy opening their presents from students, especially those who don't have any family. I know they'll love the personal touches inside such as poems and pictures."

Dyson Perrins Apprenticeship Awards 2018

Dyson Perrins Church of England Academy has been awarded the School of the Year for the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards. This is an annual event which is organised by Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Worcestershire County Council, who launched the Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards in 2014.

We are very proud to have won the School of the Year award which is largely due to the hard work undertaken by our Alternative Curriculum Co-ordinator, Mrs Karen Brakes, who is also our Careers Advisor.  Mrs Brakes regularly organises companies to come in to school and talk about apprenticeships.  She also arranges for students to attend trips promoting apprenticeship, such as the Cheltenham Apprenticeship Show, which took place earlier this year.

Careers advice and guidance is very important for our students and we are always looking for different ways to educate our young people on the world of work.

Our Year 9 students recently took part in ‘Feeding Britain’s Future’ programme and employees from the food and grocery industry came in to school to speak to students about the variety of careers on offer within their industry.
