John Hattie

John Hattie

John Hattie is Professor and Director of the Melbourne Education Research Institute at the University of Melbourne. John has written many books and papers regarding what has an impact on education, and has conducted the largest ever data-based research into what has an impact on progress in schools. John bases his philosophy on "knowing thy impact" and states that teachers should monitor the impact of what they do in the classroom to ensure that it has the highest impact on progress, similar to the way that a doctor would monitor the impact of medication on a patient. At Dyson Perrins, we strongly believe that we should all strive to maximise the potential of every student. This section will provide more information about the research of John Hattie and his Visible Learning approach
