On Wednesday 22nd November, we took Year 7 to St Mathias Church to meet with Rev James and take part in an Advent Service. It was great to see so many Year 7 students upholding our school values and displaying excellent conduct as we walked from school to the church. The Advent service allowed us to learn more about the season of Advent and also gave us an opportunity to look at key features within a Christian place of worship to support learning in RE lessons. Four of our students also displayed our school value of challenge and resilience by reading the Bible reading to the year group and also delivering the intercession prayers.  A massive well done to all students , we hope that this trip will help inform learning in RE lessons whilst also giving a chance for students to reflect on the season. A big thank you also to Rev James and Chaplain Vanessa for organising the service and to all our staff team who ensured students were safe and supported during this trip.
